How it works
- Pick a source: a logo file (PNG or SVG with transparency works best) or a letter, a word or an emoji.
- Set the background and foreground colours and the corner shape. The previews show the icon in a browser tab and on a phone, and the share card as Facebook and LinkedIn draw it.
- Type the site title and a line for the share image; the brand colour becomes the accent.
- Download the ZIP: favicon.ico (16+32+48), favicon-16/32/48.png, apple-touch-icon.png (180), icon-192.png, icon-512.png, icon-maskable-512.png, og-image.png, site.webmanifest and head.html with the tags to paste. Nothing is uploaded.
Questions people ask
Do I still need favicon.ico?
Yes — it is what older clients, some RSS readers and Google's crawler ask for at /favicon.ico. The .ico here contains PNGs inside, which every current browser reads.
What is a maskable icon?
Android crops installed-app icons into circles or squircles. A maskable icon keeps the logo inside the safe zone (the middle 80 %) on a full-bleed background so nothing is cut off.
What size should the OG image be?
1200×630 px, under 1 MB, no important content in the outer 5 % — Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Slack, WhatsApp and iMessage all use it. This tool makes exactly that.
Where do the files go?
The icons in the site root (or any folder — the snippet uses the paths you choose), the manifest next to them, the OG image anywhere public. Then paste head.html into the <head> of every page.
Why does my old favicon still show?
Browsers cache favicons aggressively. Add ?v=2 to the href in the link tag, or open the icon URL directly once.
