How is this measured?
A machine opens notchmetrics.com from the outside once a night: HTTP status, response time, certificate and whether the page changed. Five failed nights in a row, confirmed from other networks, count as down. Nothing here is self-reported.
We measure from the outside, from a single location, once a day. We cannot see what happens inside the application — only whether the site responds, how fast, and whether it changes. A short outage between two checks will not be caught.
