About ReClaim Miles

ReClaim Miles rebuilds a defensible mileage log from the evidence you already have — odometer readings, fuel and service receipts, invoices and documented destinations — and validates it against IRS Publication 463 and Treas. Reg. § 1.274-5. It runs entirely on your PC. No GPS tracking, no cloud copy of where you drove.

  • IRS Pub 463 compliance guardrails

Statutory mileage rates are applied per trip date, so mid-year rate changes are split correctly instead of averaged. The app also detects the Publication 463 five-vehicle rule and warns you when the standard mileage rate cannot legally be used for simultaneously operated fleets.

  • Merkle-root tamper evidence

When you attest to a period, the signature commits to a Merkle root of exactly those trips — not to boilerplate text. The audit ledger is append-only and hash-chained, so an edited or deleted entry breaks the chain and is detectable after the fact.

  • Form 4562 Part V worksheet

Business, commuting, and other personal miles are aggregated per vehicle with the business-use percentage and in-service date already computed — the exact figures Section B asks for, ready to transcribe instead of reconstructed by hand.

  • The Audit Defense Pack

One ZIP containing the mileage log, the Form 4562 worksheet, the hash-chained audit ledger, a written reconstruction methodology, and a manifest of SHA-256 hashes for every file. This is the artifact you hand your CPA.

  • Offline by architecture

Your database, receipt images, and client addresses stay in %APPDATA% on your own machine. Routing works from downloadable offline state maps. No GPS tracking, no trip data on our servers — there is nothing for us to breach.

  • Physically consistent reconstruction

Every reconstructed period is replayed through a fuel and battery simulation with seasonal efficiency. A log that would need an impossible tank refill or a backwards odometer is rejected rather than recorded.
